Kerry Watkins, the creative mind behind Sect War, invites you to journey through his life experiences that inspired his book. Born into a family steeped in military tradition, Kerry’s life has been deeply influenced by his family’s service.
From his grandfather’s WWI experiences to his father’s time in Vietnam and his siblings’ stints in the US Army and Marine Corps, the military has been a constant thread.
Kerry himself served as a helicopter mechanic and paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and was later commissioned as an Armor Officer in the Washington Army National Guard.
His deployment to Baghdad, Iraq, marked the start of his book’s raw material, a process that continued during his deployment to hurricane-stricken New Orleans.
Now an airworthiness inspector with The Boeing Company, Kerry divides his time between aviation and his passion for writing, motivated by his writer uncle and doctor sister, who have both published books.
Kerry’s dream to become an author has brought him where he is today, with two more books in the pipeline, following the success of Sect War
